PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently illuminate a refrigerating chamber by using an illuminating lamp (a light emitting diode) having directivity, although there is a conventional proposal that the light emitting diode instead of a filament lamp should be used for illuminating the interior of a refrigerator. SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises one or two interior illumination lamps arranged on the ceiling of the refrigerating chamber. The interior illumination lamps have directivity in the direction of emitting light. The interior illumination lamps are arranged at the approximate center in the longitudinal direction of the ceiling. The interior illumination lamps emit the light almost right downward.
