PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft support structure easily regulating displacement of a shaft in a rotation direction and an axial direction and easily suppressing wear of the shaft and a member abutting on the shaft to regulate displacement thereof. SOLUTION: In this support structure, a rocking member transmitting valve drive force of a cam shaft to an engine valve is supported by a rocker shaft 36. The rocker shaft 36 is supported between a base stand 41 provided on a cylinder head and a drop-off prevention member 42 mounted on the base stand 41. A notch 44 is formed to cross and penetrate the rocker shaft 36 on an outer circumference surface thereof. Displacement of the rocker shaft 36 in the rotation direction and the axial direction is regulated by fixing the drop-off prevention member 42 on the base stand 41 under a condition where the drop-off prevention member 42 is inserted through the notch 44.
