PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixing device capable of charging a material to set a layer thickness ratio of an iron-containing substance of an upper layer to a carbon material of a lower layer constant. SOLUTION: This material charging device for a movable hearth furnace is used for manufacturing reduced iron by charging an iron-containing material and a solid reducer on a moving floor moving in a heating furnace to heat and reduce it. The material charging device for a movable hearth furnace is characterized by that a hopper for storing the material is arranged on the moving floor; and the hopper for storing the material is provided with a powder pressure restraining mechanism.
