A system includes a first client device, a second client device and a server . A first authenticated (or secure and authenticated) communication link exists betwee n the first client device and the second client device, and a second authenticated (or secure a nd authenticated) communication link exists between the first client device and the server. Th e second client device and the server lack an authenticated (or secure and authenticated) communication link therebetween. The first client device communicates a cryptographic key to th e second client device and/or the server over the first link and/or the second link, respectively. The cryptographic key can be used to encrypt communications between the second client device and the server.
