PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, since, a circuit for making reference voltages of a gamma correction circuit of the conventional liquid crystal display device is configured so as to be determined by the resistive voltage dividing ratios, it is impossible for the conventional liquid crystal display to change a gradation display characteristic in accordance with a mode to be used. SOLUTION: Since this liquid crystal display device is constituted so that data concerned with the correcting of the gradation display characteristic of a gamma correction circuit is stored in a memory, and that data is read out and operation is applied to the data and the calculated data is made as data concerned with the correcting of a new gradation display characteristic, the display device has such an effect that data concerned with the correcting of the gradation display characteristic, which is stored in the memory at the beginning can be updated easily.
