<p>Blow molding apparatus for making hollow articles comprises an extruder (2) and molds (10, 20), each comprising a bottom half (12, 22) and a top half (13, 23) mounted on a common carrier (11, 21). In the loading position, the top is laterally displaced above the bottom, the bottom is accessible from above and the top is accessible from below or from the side. An independent claim is also included for for blow molding hollow articles using apparatus as above by moving a first mold into a cental position and moving or rotating the top or bottom into the loading position, removing a previously molded hollow article from the top, loading the bottom with a parison, moving or rotating the top or bottom into the closed position and moving the mold into a working position; repeating the above operations with a second mold; and repeating the above cycle.</p> |
