PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of acquiring moving picture data of original high picture quality again even when digital moving picture data of high quality which can not be duplicated are converted into digital moving picture data of low quality. SOLUTION: A digital video recording device 101 which receives digital moving picture data including copy control information and performs information processing for the received moving picture data is provided with a means of converting the input digital moving picture data into digital moving picture data of low quality to output the data, a means of generating backup data having the quality of the moving picture data before the conversion and storing the generated backup data as unreproducible data when the copy control information indicates that duplication is inhibited, and a means of reproducing the backup data stored as the unreproducible data into moving picture data having quality similar to the quality before the conversion.
