PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric actuator control method for a variable valve mechanism capable of suitably detecting the operating position of the mechanism in the variable valve mechanism driven by an electric actuator. SOLUTION: An engine 11 comprises the variable valve mechanism 31 driven by an electric motor 32. An acting angle sensor 55 detects the relative movement amount of a mobile body. An electric controller 60 stores a reference position learned beforehand, and detects the operating position of the variable valve mechanism 31 based on the relative movement amount from the reference position (a detected value of the acting angle sensor 55). Also, the electronic controller 60 determines whether the electric motor 32 can be driven or not based on the battery voltage of the engine 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
