PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an imaging method capable of easily avoiding the photographing of an image of the composition different from the intention of a photographer. SOLUTION: Distances of an object at a plurality of range finding points in a photographing viewing angle are measured (process S202), thereafter, the deviation of a position of the object in the photographing viewing angle is detected based on range finding results on the respective range finding points (process S203) and the adjustment of a focal point is performed based on the range finding results on the respective range finding points (process S205).
