PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sauna apparatus for thermotherapy improves a thermotherapy effect without imposing an excessive burden on a patient, an elderly or a physically handicapped person by carrying out sauna bathing for prescribed thermotherapy while staying in a sauna room. SOLUTION: In the sauna room 2 holding dry heat atmosphere, fans 19 and 20 for taking in and exhausting air, a room temperature detection sensor 28 for detecting a room temperature and a plane heater 11 radiating far-infrared rays are provided, and a controller 14 for sequence control is provided. The controller 14 controls the fans 19 and 20 and the plane heater 11 on the basis of output detected by the sensor 28 so that the room temperature in the sauna room 2 and time become a prescribed bathing pattern for thermotherapy which is regulated in advance according to setting of a thermotherapy mode.
