PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyethylene terephthalate capable of being decreased in an amount of a cyclic trimer which is formed in molding. SOLUTION: This polyethylene terephthalate contains ethylene glycol in an amount of≥80 ppm, a linear trimer (I) of the ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid in an amount of≥80 ppm, a linear dimer (II) in an amount of≥80 ppm, a linear monomer (III) in an amount of≥60 ppm, and the cyclic trimer (IV) in an amount of≤0.40 wt.%. It is preferable that a molded product contains the cyclic trimer (IV) in an amount of≤0.45 wt.%, when the molded product is obtained by injection molding at an injection molding temperature of 295°C.
