PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry ink efficiently by a blow fan while holding a recording medium on which image is recorded by a delivery roller temporarily. SOLUTION: Image is formed on the recording medium P in a recording part 20 by discharging ink by an ink head 25 loaded on a carriage 24. The recording medium P is delivered onto a delivery tray 33 positioned below a drying part 40 by the delivery roller 31 and a driven roller 32 constituting another unit of a pair of rollers. When a tip of the recording medium P reaches a delivery part 30, the fan 41 positioned above the delivery part 30 is started to start drying of ink. For a while, partial drying of the recording medium P delivered into the delivery part 30 is simultaneously performed. Upon completion of image formation, a rear end of the recording medium P is held by the delivery roller 31 and the driven roller 32 immediately before delivery ends completely.
