PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high GMR sensitivity by improving corrosion resistance of a magneto-resistance effect magnetic head. SOLUTION: This magneto-resistance effect magnetic head comprises a spin valve film having such a structure that an anti-ferromagnetic layer, a magnetization fixed layer 43 of which the magnetization is fixed in the predetermined direction by a switched connection magnetic field acting in between the anti-ferromagnetic layer and the magnetization fixed layer 43, a magnetization free layer 45 of which the magnetization direction is changed in accordance with an external magnetic field, and a nonmagnetic layer 44 for magnetically separating between the magnetization fixed layer 43 and the magnetization free layer 45 are laminated, as magnetism sensitive elements for detecting a magnetic signal while sliding in contact with the magnetic recording medium. The nonmagnetic layer 44 consists of: a conductive layer 44a having conductivity; a 1st interface layer 44b formed on the interface between the magnetization fixed layer 43 and the conduction layer 44a; and a 2nd interface layer 44c formed on the interface between the conductive layer 44a and the magnetization free layer 45.
