PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material which is lightweight, high in heat insulating properties, flame retardant, and has heat accumulating properties. SOLUTION: There is provided a heat accumulating inorganic fiber plate which is formed of an inorganic fiber plate containing inorganic fibers as a substrate, and a heat accumulating material mixed to the same, which is a substance having a temperature of phase change in the range of 5 to 50°C. The heat accumulating inorganic fiber plate has imparted thereto excellent strength and heat insulating properties by virtue of the inorganic fibers, and further has imparted thereto excellent heat accumulating properties by virtue of the heat accumulating material. When the heat accumulating inorganic fiber plate is employed as a building interior finishing material, amounts of energy consumed for air conditioning facilities etc. can be reduced.
