PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly-reliable rotation sensor allowing easy assembly and arrangement. SOLUTION: This sensor is characterized by having a constitution wherein a first magnetic path control part and a second magnetic path control part are arranged so as to recede from an exciting coil in the order of the first magnetic path control part and the second magnetic path control part on the outside of at least one end of the exciting coil along the axial direction of the exciting coil, and a magnetic path resistance in an alternating field is controlled by relative rotation between the first magnetic path control part and the second magnetic path control part.
