The device has a machine component (2) e.g. spindle, and a tension rod (5) axially movable in a through hole. Two fastening units (12) are arranged over the periphery of the rod, where each fastening unit comprises a base (13). A cylinder-shape control surface (15), where both machine components (2, 3) are strutted with one another in a clamping position. The fastening unit (12) is supported with a head in the control surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for tightening of two machine components.
