PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force balance type metering apparatus which can eliminate the need for attaching a large balancer to the lever section. SOLUTION: The metering apparatus 1 is equipped with a load-receiving section 3 which supports an article and is loaded as a tare; a metering section 5 which meters the article supported by the load-receiving section 3; and a balancer 59 which maintains the weight balance of the load-receiving section 3. The metering section 5 is a force-balance type, comprising the lever section 52, wherein a second edge 52e moves in response to a displacement of a first edge 53 caused by a weight applied to the first edge 53; and an electromagnetic balancing means 20, which applies an electromagnetic drag force to the second edge 52e of the lever section 52. A permanent magnet 22 of the electromagnetic balancing means 20 is fixed to the side of the second edge 52e of the lever section 52, and a coil 23 of the electromagnetic balancing means 20 is fixed to the side of its fixing section.
