PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic apparatus which achieves improvement in wear resistance as well as suppression of an abnormal image such as an out-of-focus image, which enhances the above effect by reducing contamination on a charging member, and which has high durability and high stability of picture quality. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with at least a charging means of a non-contact system disposed near the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, an exposing means, a developing means, a transferring means and the electrophotographic photoreceptor. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has at least a charge generating layer, a charge transporting layer and a crosslinked charge transporting layer, successively layered on a conductive supporting body. The crosslinked charge transporting layer has a structure formed by curing a radical polymerizable monomer having three or more functional groups but no charge transporting structure and a monofunctional radical polymerizable compound having a charge transporting structure.
