PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that jaggy noise and false color signals tend to be generated to an image which is compressed by half in the vertical direction in a CCD image sensor in which two different colors are alternately arranged in the columnar direction. SOLUTION: A clockϕ<SB>s</SB>4 is applied instead of a clockϕ<SB>s</SB>2 only to the bit of the (i+2)th row out of bits of the i to (i+3)th row of a vertical shift register which are driven by clocksϕ<SB>s</SB>1 toϕ<SB>s</SB>3. The (i+2)th information electric charge is discharged in a state that the information electric charge of three colors, R, G, and B obtained in accordance with a color filter is accumulated in the vertical shift register, and theϕ<SB>s</SB>4 is in an off-state. Then, a line transfer is started. A horizontal transfer unit composes the (i+3) to (i+1)th rows to perform horizontal transfer after receiving the i-th row. The row which is generated by the composition corresponds to a color different from that of the i-th row, and a sampling position is equal to the (i+2)th row. Therefore, a compressed image is generated in which two-color information is alternately and equidistantly sampled in a two-rows cycle in the vertical direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
