PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a support for a lithographic printing plate, by which a lithographic printing plate original plate excellent both in resistance to dirt and in plate wearability can be obtained by employing alternating current electrolysis in an aqueous solution containing a hydrochloric acid. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the support for the lithographic printing plate, the support for the lithographic printing plate is obtained by applying at least an electrochemical roughening treatment using the trapezoidal wave alternating current of the duty of 0.2-0.4 in the aqueous solution containing the hydrochloric acid and an electrochemical roughening treatment using the alternating current in the aqueous solution containing the hydrochloric acid in this order to an aluminum plate.
