Connecting element (1) for connecting struts of a frame of a piece of furniture comprises several coupling elements (3) extending from a central element (2) and to be connected to the tubular struts. At least one of the coupling elements has a rotationally cylindrical shape provided with at least one coupling recess formed by a transverse groove (5) extending perpendicularly to an axis of the cylinder and a longitudinal groove (6) extending parallel to the axis of the cylinder from a front side (4) of the coupling element toward the transverse groove. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Frame system comprising connecting elements and tubular struts; and (2) Casting mold used in the manufacture of the above connecting element.
