PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming method which, when ink comprising a pigment as a coloring material is used, can improve deterioration in beautifulness of an image resulting from nonuniformity of color images of secondary or higher-order colors which has been remarkably liable to occur heretofore in the case of a pigment ink.

SOLUTION: In the image-forming method for forming a multiple-order color on a medium to be recorded using aqueous ink of different colors which comprise at least water, a plurality of water-soluble organic solvents and a water-insoluble coloring material, at least two aqueous inks selected from aqueous inks of different colors are used, where each color ink comprises the plurality of water-soluble organic solvents comprising a good solvent for the water-insoluble coloring material and a poor solvent for the water-insoluble coloring material and the content of the poor solvent in each ink falls within the substantially same range.
