A metal strip acts as the substrate for a rubber seal in automobile bodywork. The metal strip (6) has parallel sides with a series of equidistantly spaced V-shaped slits (3) on either side. The metal belt further incorporates a series of narrow slits (2) along the centreline. These slits are wider at their center and terminate in a V-shape. The outer and inner slit terminations esp. narrowly overlap (9a'; a) by a distance (b). |
