An inkjet recording sheet that whichever a dye ink or a pigment ink is employed, excels in recording characteristics, such as image color formation and storability, also excelling in white background portion storability. There is provided an inkjet recording sheet comprising a support and, superimposed thereon, an ink receiving layer containing a pigment and an adhesive, wherein the ink receiving layer contains a cationic polymer (A) whose water absorption as measured in accordance with the method A prescribed in Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) K 7209 is in the range of 25 to 70%.
