PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing resin coated particles capable of achieving a sufficiently high level for both of the degree of polymerization of monomeric components and coating efficiency at the time of obtaining particles composed by coating the surface of nuclear particles with a resin layer. SOLUTION: In the method of producing the resin coated particles for coating the surface of the nuclear particles with the resin layer by performing radical polymerization by using a polymerization initiator in the state that the nuclear particles are dispersed in a solvent and also the monomeric components exit, the solvent is the one composed of a hydrophilic organic solvent and water in which the mixing ratio of the water is 70 wt% or more or is just the water, the nuclear particles are treated so as to provide a polymerizable reactive group on the surface prior to the radical polymerization, and the polymerization initiator is water-soluble.
