摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize highly precise misfire detecting control which prevents a deterioration in operability without excessively increasing the number of cylinders for cutting fuel by respectively making judgments on whether or not a catalyst is at a misfire level subjecting to damage and how many cylinders are required for cutting fuel. SOLUTION: A misfire detecting device for a multi-cylinder engine equipped with a misfire detecting means and a fuel cutting means, includes a misfire count integrating means for respectively integrating the number of misfires detected by the misfire detecting means within a prescribed period with respect to each cylinder and all cylinders, a damage judging means for judging whether or not a catalyst is damaged, and a cylinder judging means for judging a cylinder for cutting fuel by the fuel cutting means on the basis of the integrated number for every cylinders integrated by the misfire count integrating means when judging that the catalyst is damaged by the damage judging means.
