<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is a small type and with which stable traveling of a belt for image formation, such as a photoreceptor belt, intermediate transfer belt, and paper sheet conveyance belt, is made possible by suppressing the impulsive vibration of the belt for image formation due to external force, and the formation of an image having high image quality without having color smear, color unevenness, and unsightly stripe patterns, is made possible. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is equipped with the intermediate transfer belt 3 and forms the color image by successively superposing and transferring the toner images of colors varying from each other formed on the photoreceptor drum 111, wherein the intermediate transfer belt 3 is pressed by the tension due to an elastic member 2dd from the surface carrying the image in the position separate from the transfer section of the intermediate transfer belt 3 in contact with the photoreceptor drum 3 and is curved to an opposite side by a tension roller 2D and a cleaner 156 is disposed in a dent formed by curving to the opposite side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
