PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval device, an information retrieval method, an information retrieval program, and an information retrieval program recording medium, with which information desired by a user is ranked higher and is presented without increasing an execution time. SOLUTION: An information retrieval device 1 is provided with: an input part 10; a semantic category determination part 90; a use information presentation reference determination part 20; an information presentation reference holding part 30; an information retrieval means 40; an index 50; an output part 60; a user selection action acquisition part 70; and an information presentation reference update part 80. The device 1 determines a semantic category agreeing with a retrieval keyword indicated by the user, selects an information presentation reference most suitable for the semantic category from a plurality of preliminarily provided information presentation references and performs retrieval, and reflects a user's selection action on the information presentation reference every time the retrieval is carried out.
