An aqueous dispersion of lecithin is mixed into a mass of ground roasted peanuts. Oil expressed from the roasted peanuts and then hydrogenated, oil expressed from the separated germinal tips of the roasted peanuts and then hydrogenated, and other edible oil or fat, e.g. coconut oil, may be incorporated, preferably in admixture with the lecithin dispersion. Flavourings such as salt, sugar and chocolate may be mixed with the ground nuts; nut kernels, pieces of chocolate or fruit, and the like, may be added to the product. |
