<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a membrane and electrode assembly in which a surface of catalyst supporting particles including micro pores of a catalyst layer is evenly and thinly coated with electrolyte without giving thermal and mechanical damage to a polymer electrolyte membrane, and which is superior in a balance of conductivity, proton conductivity, and gas dispersibility. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the polymer electrolyte type fuel cell membrane/electrode assembly includes a process (1) in which composite particles containing the catalyst carrying particles and a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte to cover at least a part of the catalyst carrying particles are mixed in a solvent and a dispersed liquid is obtained, and a process (2) in which the dispersed liquid is sprayed into the air, and while the solvent is partly vaporized, at least a part of the electrolyte is made to be half solid state, the composite particles are applied on the hydrogen ion conductive polymer film, and a catalyst layer is obtained constituted of composite particle layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
