摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a pixel defect included in an image signal. SOLUTION: An average level Lav, the maximum level Lmax and the minimum level Lmin are generated from image signals Y(P1) to Y(P8) of neighboring pixels P1 to P8 adjacent to a target pixel P0. DifferenceΔL between the maximum level Lmax and the minimum level Lmin is added to the average level Lav to generate a criterion value Lw of a white defect, the differenceΔL is subtracted from the average level Lav to generate a criterion value Lb of a black defect.
