The invention may be used for marking the current-conducting parts, for example of the rolled products, parts of transport facilities, machine building products, and aircraft industry products. The process is based on assignment of the identification number. Summary of the invention consists in that onto the identification number there is applied with mechanical resources an information map graticule, for example in the form of Descartes system. Between the current-conducting material resources there is placed with gap a vibrating electrode (electrodes from different metals), creating an electrospark discharge. The electrode is displaced lengthwise and edgewise the information graticule according to the law of accidental numbers. The identification number is preliminarily scanned concomitantly with the visual image of the electrodischarge process, and the subsequent identification process is carried out by comparing the identification number with the visual image of the electrodicharge process.
