PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct high-speed vehicle height measurement. SOLUTION: A vehicle measuring instrument is configured to repeat measurement having wide measurement intervals and the measurement having narrow measurement intervals. Thus, the location of the vehicle height is roughly specified by conducting the measurement having the wide measurement intervals. Consequently, the measurement is conducted for only the specified height in the following measurement having the narrow measurement intervals. In addition, the vehicle height is measured at the narrow measurement intervals without light-emitting light emitting devices T for all the heights. Furthermore, it is not required to light the light emitting devices T for all the heights. Consequently, time required for light-emitting the light emitting devices T is reduced and the high-speed measurement is allowed to suppress power consumed due to light emission of the light emitting devices T.
