<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of executing filter regeneration treatment suppressing deterioration of fuel economy without raising filter temperature excessively. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a filter collecting particulate and ash content, and a filter regeneration treatment means starting filter regeneration treatment oxidizing and removing particulate by keeping inside of filter in oxidizing atmosphere while keeping temperature of the filter at a target temperature for regenerating the filter when quantity of particulate accumulated on the filter is greater than a predetermined quantity. The filter regeneration treatment means includes a target temperature establishing means establishing target temperature and the target temperature establishing means establishes target temperature based on quantity of ash content accumulated on the filter. Consequently, even if quantity of accumulated particulate per unit volume increases due to accumulation of ash content on the filter, oxidation reaction speed of particulate can be dropped, excessive temperature rise of the filter can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
