<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly plot the image of an object being the target of display while suppressing processing amounts required for the plotting of an image. <P>SOLUTION: Detailed model data having numerous polygons and rough model data having fewer polygons are prepared for one object being the target of display. A rectangular parallelepiped including the entire object is defined as a bounding box for each model. When the object is perspective-transformed, and an image is plotted, a virtual three-dimensional space is divided into a far distant field and a near distant field according to a distance from a viewpoint of virtual camera. When at least a part of the bounding box is included in the far distant field, the polygons of rough model data included in the far distant field are plotted in a frame buffer. When at least a part of the bounding box is included in the near distant field, the polygons of detailed model data included in the near distant field are plotted in a frame buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
