<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an operator to easily carry out the maintenance of a reader/writer. <P>SOLUTION: A maintenance device 3 is provided with a communication interface, equivalent to a communication interface between a non-contact IC card 9 and a reader/writer 1. When a card detection command, transmitted from the reader/writer 1, is received, a maintenance carrying out response is transmitted to the reader/writer 1, and maintenance processing to the reader/writer 1 is carried out. When the reader/writer 1 has been already shipped and used by a customer, and a host device 2 connected to the reader/writer 1 cannot be used, it is possible for the operator to easily carry out the setting or acquisition of setting information, such as maintenance of the reader/writer 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
