BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly having a plurality of light sources detecting fault of respective light sources in real time.

SOLUTION: The backlight assembly comprises a container 100 and a detector 230. The container houses light generating devices 110 generating light and electromagnetic field, and comprises a plate having sampling holes 120 through which the electromagnetic field passes. The detector having sensor units 210 outputting sensed signals corresponding to strength of the electromagnetic field is arranged at the outside of the container so as to correspond with the sampling holes. By the above, the fault of the light source generating the light for displaying an image can be detected in real time to protect the rest of the light sources from fire.
