<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image without causing damage to gradation reproducibility of the image in comparison with the case where exposure recording of the image is performed by a conventional method through the use of an organic EL device, and to form the image without uneven streaks without an influence exerted by a dark spot of the organic EL device, in terms of an image forming apparatus and an image forming method, wherein the emission of the light from the organic EL device is controlled by using an image input signal, so that the image can be formed on a photosensitive material. <P>SOLUTION: An exposure control signal for controlling exposure by the organic EL device, and an ON/OFF control signal for controlling the light emission of the organic electroluminescent device depending on a position of the image to be recorded so that light exposure can be performed in a predetermined exposure pattern, are generated from the fed image input signal. The image is recorded by performing multiple exposure through the use of a line-shaped light-emitting device array composed of the organic EL devices which are juxtaposed in a subscanning direction by using these control signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
