The invention relates to a multicylinder reciprocating internal combustion engine comprising spaced-apart camshafts held on a cylinder head (1) in camshaft bearings and recesses (12) arranged between the camshafts on the cylinder in an ignition and/or injection direction each. The internal combustion engine also comprises at least one self-contained flow channel (6.1) for oily blow-by gases which extends between the camshafts across the length of the cylinder head in a meandering manner.
