A phosphor activated by trivalent bismuth and divalent manganese consists of:- <FORM:1071567/C4-C5/1> (a Bi + b Mn), where /s02 x /s00.1, 2/s0y/s00.1, p>q, 0.30/s0a/s00.04, 0.50/s0b/s00.05, and preferably 1.10/s0(p+q)/s00.95. The phosphor is prepared by heating for 2 hours in air at 1200 DEG C., with a small deficiency of calcium, and has a good high-temperature light output. |
