PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for guiding a road by using a GPS mobile terminal and an AV system are provided to reduce capacity of a memory required for providing load guide information by storing map data of each section in the memory. CONSTITUTION: A calculating unit stores map data of a section set by using a mobile terminal in a memory and updates the map data at every certain time(S205). The calculating unit checks whether a GPS signal is detected(S210). When a GPS signal is detected, the calculating unit provides a road guide service based on road guide information received from the mobile terminal(S215). If no GPS signal is detected, the calculating unit provides road guide information based on a signal of a gyro sensor, a signal of a car speed sensor and map data of each section stored in the memory(S220).
