PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step-up circuit which can prevent an element for constituting a step-up part from being damaged. SOLUTION: The step-up circuit 1 includes a charge pump circuit 30 for stepping-up a reference voltage to generate a step-up voltage. The step-up circuit 1 has a detector 10 which determines whether the reference voltage of the charge pump circuit 30 is a predetermined voltage or higher or not, which does not operate the charge pump circuit 30 when the reference voltage is a predetermined voltage or more and which outputs a control signalΦfor operating the charge pump circuit 30 when the reference voltage is smaller than the predetermined voltage.
