<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection of relative speeds between stationary objects arranged at an equal interval and own vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A preceding vehicle recognizing device 2 transmits a laser beam 12 in every measurement cycle, receives reflected lights 13 returned after being reflected on obstacles, and detects those obstacles. When a plurality of the obstacles are detected, a signal processor 5 decides whether or not the detected obstacles are arrayed with equal intervals, and when it is decided that the obstacles are arrayed with equal intervals, the signal processor 5 changes a measurement cycle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
