PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-stage transmission which can be suitably used when it is horizontally arranged relative to a vehicle and can execute the forward shift of 7 stages or more. SOLUTION: The multi-stage transmission is composed as follows. A first planetary gear device 34 is arranged on a first axis L1. A second planetary gear device 38 and a third planetary gear device 40 are arranged on a second axis L2. The axial dimension can be shortened compared with the case that all the planetary gear devices are arranged on the same axis. The multi-stage transmission can be horizontally mounted to the vehicle. Also, rotation inputted from an engine 16 to an input shaft 14 is transmitted to the second axis L2 side at a change gear ratio of 1.0 via a first power transmission mechanism 20. The rotation is transmitted to the second axis L2 side at two change gear ratios, which are larger than the change gear ratio of 1.0, by a first clutch C1 and the engagement/disengagement state of a first brake B1 via a second power transmission mechanism 22. The rotation is further subjected to a gear change by a main gear shifting part 24 arranged on the second axis L2.
