<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside handle device of an automobile which has good maintainability and effectively prevents generation of abnormal sounds while running. <P>SOLUTION: The outside handle device includes a handle body 3 connected to a handle base 2 fixed to a panel 1 of the automobile, and a connecting lever 7 swingably connected to the handle body 3. The connecting lever 7 is driven in an up-down direction by an operational force applied to the handle body 3, and releases the state of locking of a locking device 5 by pressing an unlocking lever 6 of the locking device 5 with an engaging part 4 provided at the lower end. The engaging part 4 is formed to release the state of engagement with the unlocking lever 6 upon swinging movement of the connecting lever 7 toward the center of a body of the automobile. The handle base 2 is provided with a panel deformation sensing body 8 protruding toward the connecting lever 7.
