PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetoresistive head of which the reliability is improved by increasing the durability of the magnetic tape in the manner of suppressing the formation of protrusion around a magnetoresistive element to prevent defects such as spacing loss or tape damages, etc., and to provide the magnetic tape and a recording/reproducing system utilizing the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: A thermal conductor member arranged being connected to the magnetoresistive element is formed of a material having a thermal conductivity higher than 20W/(m K), and the heat generated when the magnetoresistive element is used, is efficiently radiated to suppress the temperature around the magnetoresistive element. Also, by using a material having a melting point lower than the temperature at the use of magnetoresistive element for the material of a lubricant layer formed on a surface of the magnetic tape, the lubricant layer is not melted even though the head temperature rises when the magnetoresistive element is used.
