METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CONDUCTIVE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a conductive member that has a cover layer free from surface defects when the surface cover layer of the conductive member is formed by a dipping method in which a roller is immersed in a coating liquid in the vertical state and that has such edge part shape of the cover layer as to cause no spark discharge between a photosensitive body and roller end part made of rubber or a foamed body of low electric resistance.

SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the conductive member comprising a conductive supporting body and the cover layer formed on the outer circumference of the conductive supporting body comprises the processes of: preparing the coating liquid; heating a masking cap beforehand before fitting the masking cap to an exposure part of the conductive supporting body, fitting the masking cap to the exposure part of the conductive supporting body of at least one side while the temperature is being kept high and applying the coating liquid on the outer circumferential surface of the conductive supporting body; drying the coating liquid applied on the outer circumferential surface of the conductive supporting body; and subsequently forming the cover layer on the outer circumferential surface of the conductive supporting body.
