A reduced friction axle support for a blower rotor (1) has one end of the axle (11) rigidly fitted into the rotor hub and the other end located into a bearing sleeve (2) fitted into the blower support housing (3). The axle is provided with grooves (111) where it is supported inside the bearing sleeve and these grooves are filled with lubricant, e.g. oil. The grooves can be separate ring grooves or a spiral groove. The groove cross section can be any suitable shape.
