DISPENSER WITH APPLICATOR MODULE FOR APPLYING ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS TO DISPENSED TAPE

A dispenser (1011) for dispensing the length of tape (100) ready for applicati on on a package, the dispenser (1011) including a frame (300), a feed mechanism (1500), a cutting mechanism (1518), and an applicator (1526). The frame (300) has a storage area (1525) for storing tape (100) therein. The feed mechanism (1500) is connected to the frame (300) for feeding tape (100) from the storage area (1525). The cutting mechanism (1518) is connected to the frame (300) for cutting the length of tape (100) dispensed from the dispenser (1011). The applicator (1526) is connected to the frame (300) and adapted for applying an additional element to the tape (100) when the length of tape is dispensed. The application of the additional element to the tape (100) provides the length of tape with a predetermined characteristic. The additional element applied by applicator is selected from a number of different additional elements. Each additional element has a different predetermined characteristic so that when applied to the tape, each of the different additional elements provides the length of tape (100) with a different corresponding predetermined characteristic.
