摘要 PURPOSE: A power saving device is provided to effectively reduce power losses during power conversion by automatically stepping down voltages in accordance with the voltage of an input power. CONSTITUTION: A power saving device comprises an earth leakage breaker(10), a main winding(20), parallel or serial type excitation winding(30), semiconductor switching elements(41,42,43,44,45), a control unit(50), and a switching element protection unit(60). The earth leakage breaker cuts off input power upon occurrence of faults. The main winding is connected to the earth leakage breaker, and the excitation winding is connected to the main winding. The semiconductor switching elements are individually connected to respective excitation windings(31,32,33,34,35) so as to connect the excitation windings to output lines. The semiconductor switching elements connect/disconnect the excitation windings and the main winding in accordance with the control signal voltage value output from the control unit. The control unit detects voltages of power input through the earth leakage breaker, and automatically controls operation of switching elements in accordance with the detected voltages. The switching element protection unit protects the semiconductor switching elements by absorbing high voltages flowing toward the semiconductor switching elements, and attenuating harmonic waves of output power.
